Viva Las Vegas! Learn what our drivers will be expecting going into Las Vegas this Friday night!

(Las Vegas is a) 1.5 Mile Tri-Oval 20 degree banking in the turns with 9-12 degree variable banking on the back stretch and through the tri-oval.

Watching tire wear and temp will be key to solid lap times and consistent racing. Because the track is in the desert it is subject to constant abuse by the elements and makes for a very abrasive surface that will chew up tires as the race goes on. The preferred groove on the race track tends to move toward the wall as tires wear and the track takes on rubber.

Setting up the car for long runs can be more beneficial than going for a short run strategy because with wide turns and a wide back stretch it tends to allow plenty of opportunity for passing and long green flag runs.

Unlike other speedways on the schedule, Las Vegas has a short pit entry in between the exit of 4 and the beginning of the tri-oval. Pit road speed is 45mph. Other notable features of the track is a slight bump in turns 1 and two. Also turn 4 has a shallow exit so if you are carrying too much speed you will slide up and put it in the fence.
