Las Vegas proved to be one of the harder races for the league this week as tempers flared, a season high in cautions were waved and rivalries were born.
Blake Thomas surged to victory with a .003 margin of victory over Derek Kusz and two of his three teammates with Eric Wolfe and Paul Winn in 3rd and 4th. Thomas as well as Derek Reddick-Baker made very impressive debuts this week with both drivers winning a stage in their first race and collecting a top five finish as well.
Paul Winn made it very clear in the week leading up that he knew he had a target on his back at Las Vegas. Although his statement was more “tongue in cheek” than truth, he may have spoke it into existence as he found himself on the receiving end of some very questionable situations that left Paul fighting from the back of the field from the very start of qualifying.
Winn stated in a Facebook post, “My thoughts on the race last Friday at Vegas. It’s got to say something about your driving skills when some of your competitors feel like the only way they can beat you is to wreck you.”
“See they think just because I’m a clean racer that I don’t know how to drive dirty. Big mistake!!! Because the skill I have to get to the front and win races, I have just as much skill racing dirty.”

He went on to state his frustrations from a rough qualifier where he was in the pits most of qualifying due to a wreck in lap 1 all the way to his frustrations with the extreme amount of cautions in the race itself. At one point Winn made his way to the front and gained a substantial lead on the pack only to become the victim of another caution at his expense. With Winn being an assistant to driver development in the Jumpboost Racing League, he has offered to help drivers week after week and feels slighted to be in the wall that many times after such dominant performances at Daytona and Atlanta where he went on to win.
Winn is going to be a driver to watch this week as he is coming out of the gates with no remorse for the drivers numbers he has on his dash.
