The 2022 ARCA Season kicked off on February 14th, 2022 at Daytona International Speedway with a field of contenders, some new and some very familiar to the Jumpboost Racing League faithful.

The race started off tight and fast with us seeing our first (and only) caution of the race on lap 4 when the #21 of Ian Ogden caught a bump from the #52 of David Cologgi sending Ogden down the track in front of the field and then back up into the wall in front of Cologgi. Both drivers were able to make it off track and be repaired to finish the race.

On lap 16 we saw the departure of front runner, Brandon Ward in the #88 Chevy enter pit-lane and the driver left the car. Sources close to Ward and the JDJ Race Team said driver health and safety is what brought his race to an end.

As we neared closer to the end of the race, the field was stacked up at the 1, 2 and 3 position. Ian Ogden lead the field to the white flag followed closely by the #51 of Eric Wolfe and #39 of Domenic Previte. Coming off of turn 4, Wolfe and Previte made a move to the outside while Ogden attempted a block. The cars shuffled around and Wolfe took the victory by 0.024 seconds over Ogden with Previte finishing just 0.022 seconds behind Ogden.

Ian Ogden is definitely a driver to watch this season as not only did he hold the fastest lap of the race at 0:46.642 (on LAP 12) but Ogden led 14 of the 40 laps in the race. Wolfe went on to lead 10 laps followed by Domenic Previte (8), Bob Williams (7) and Brandon Ward (1).

Going into Phoenix next week, the points are stacking up quickly and the race for the championship is going to heat up.

Wolfe is tied with Ogden for 1st place with 180 points but the tie breaker of a win is currently putting him ahead.

Will we see another battle between Wolfe, Ogden and Previte next Monday night? Tune into Jumpboost Racing on Twitch to watch live at 8pm/est!
