With the official Daytona Season opener now out of the way, there is one word that comes to mind. Survive. With 7 cautions totaling a whopping 24 laps at the Superspeedway, a lot of competitors found themselves trying to salvage what was left of their cars by the end of this one.

The big one came on lap 53 with the pack charging through turn 3 into a full on, ten car pile up involving the #51 Eric Wolfe, #21 Ian Ogden, #42 David Corbett, #76 John Gallagher, #00 Blake Thomas, #69 Todd Danbury, #06 Bob Williams, #46 Patrick Ganczewski, #37 Barney Sigman and #7 Brandon Van Buytene. This accident stretched a mass of cars from the entrance of turn 3 to the exit of turn 4. Ian Ogden and Eric Wolfe were both unable to cross the start finish line under the power of their own vehicles.

As the three who made it through the big one in turns 3 and 4, David Cologgi, Domenic Previte and Brian Coffman all pushed towards a victory. While entering the tri-oval, the #01 of Brian Coffman looked to move up the track to avoid going below the double yellow line and seemed to have clipped the #52 of David Cologgi into the wall and then across the infield as Domenic Previte and the #39 Chevy crossed the start finish line to win at Daytona.

In all, there were 7 cautions for a total of 24 laps, 10 lead changes and David Cologgi went on to lead 24 total laps out of the 53 run in the race. Will we see Cologgi and the #52 gunning for a victory next week? Tune in to http://www.twitch.tv/jumpboostracing to find out!
