The NASCAR Next Gen race kicked off at the 1.5 mile Speedway in Las Vegas at 3pm with the #5 Farmers Toyota driven by Blake Thomas leading the field to the green flag with his first Pole Position start of the year with Derek Allen on his outside.

On lap 7, Patrick Ganczewski found the wall coming out of turn two and bounced to the inside of the track. After a pitstop to repair some damage, he had an equipment error which lead to his car drifting up the track leaving the apron on lap 12 and Orry Perce was in the wrong place in the wrong time as his #99 Falken Tires Toyota caught the rear of Ganczewski’s car and sent both spinning. Perce had to be towed back to the pits for repairs and Ganczewski’s car was pulled off track.

This was the first of only 3 cautions for a total of 14 laps. The final caution came at lap 106 as Wolfe came out of turn 4 and came down to the inside of the #99 of Orry Perce. Both drivers went for the same space at the same time and banged doors which sent Wolfe (who had just pitted 2 laps prior) sliding down the pits. Perce after the race sought out to find Wolfe and apologize for the situation. Wolfe was overheard saying “No worries bud, it was just hard racing.. I’m just shocked I didn’t hit that pit wall..”

The race concluded with Wolfe and Thomas battling it out for the final ten laps of the race. On lap 123, Wolfe caught the apron and was able to catch the slide but Thomas took advantage and pulled away knowing the 51 was pushing for his 3rd win of Season 2. Thomas went on to win by a +1.510 second margin.

Wolfe was seen pulling up alongside of his teammate after the race and the two were seen pointing at each other in celebration. Clearly, the Rowdy Boys are back in action and are going to be a force to be reckoned with going into Phoenix next week!
