The ARCA series came to Newton, Iowa to the 7/8 mile oval on March 21, 2022. These cars came to this track to prove a point. With Blake Thomas and Domenic Previte leading the field to the green, these drivers took off. Blake Thomas found himself in an early lead that steadly grew throughout the run. That was until lap 35 when the #46 Chevy driven by Patrick Ganczewski got sideways coming out of turn four and clipped the passing Barney Sigman. Ganczewski hit the inside pit wall hard and suffered heavy suspension damage to the drivers side of the car.

The race continued on until lap 42 without incident. These ARCA drivers showed no fear coming to the end of this 50 lap race as they took the field four wide going into turn three. Domenic Previte backed off the throttle as Bob Williams moved up the track. JRL Rookie, Josh Previte caught the rear bumper of Domenic Previte and sent him spinning down the track in front of the #51 of Eric Wolfe who was able to make it through the wreck without incident.

On the restart, we saw two familiar faces in first and third position. You may be asking yourself who. But have you been living under a rock? It is the two drivers under the watchful eye of the Jumpboost Racing League after their Xfinity suspensions for this week. Blake Thomas and Todd Danbury found themselves in a make or break spot on this restart. Sadly, it would be the latter of those situations as the #69 of Danbury checked up hard on the restart as the outside line left. This caused the #35 of Josh Previte to get into the back of Blake Thomas, which then pushed him into the back of Todd Danbury.

After the Xfinity race where tempers were boiling over, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds as these drivers head to Bristol tomorrow night to race in the dirt.

The leader, Todd Danbury stacks up the #5 of Blake Thomas and the #35 of Josh Previte on the restart.

You know the old saying, Cautions breed cautions”? That seems to be the trend these last few races heading towards the end of the run. After the green flag dropped on lap 52 for our first Green, White, Checkered restart, Domenic Previte found himself in a familiar position. Spinning in towards the inside wall after Bob Williams made a dangerous attempt at a low pass. Williams came up the track and met the rear quarter panel of Previte sending him spinning into our last caution.

Previte could be heard over his team radio very upset asking “Did he really just do that? Did he just drive on through me there? Let’s watch that back..” Thankfully Previte was able to roll away with just a slightly wrinkled quarter panel and nothing much more than that.

On our final Green, White, Checkered restart we saw JDJ Racing Teammates Joe Tardif and Brandon Ward in positions one and two with ARCA Points Leader Eric Wolfe in third.

Tardif got an amazing jump on both Ward and Wolfe leaving them behind going into turn one. Ward, not making it easy on his teammate challenged for position to take the white flag. Going into turn 3 and 4 it looked as if Eric Wolfe had backed off just too much to make a run but managed to exit the corner faster than Ward and Tardif and made for an amazing 1, 2, 3 finish with Tardif edging out a victory over Ward (+0.130) in second and Wolfe (+0.155) in third.

JRL Rookie Josh Previte finished in 4th and Blake Thomas rounded out the top five.

In total, the race went 58 laps. 4 cautions for 16 laps and 8 total lead changes.
