The Jumpboost Racing League’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway was one that involved speed, pit strategy and balancing tire wear. This race marked Josh Previte’s fourth pole on the season with a scorching sub 30 second lap and beat out Justin Potts by just 0.159 seconds. The field was packed tight with qualifying times being some of the fastest on average we have seen all season.

Stage one was a race that Paul Junior stepped out to the lead and led 13 of the 15 total stage laps. Junior would go on to lead his season high of 15 laps this race. At the start of this post stage pit cycle, we would see the i90 Racing drivers take fuel only in a strategy to save tires for the back half of the race. At the time this put both Eric Wolfe and Domenic Previte towards the front of the field with reasonably worn tires for the next stage.

Stage two was much of the same clean but close racing through the field where we saw Josh Previte win the stage with both Harley Barletta and Paul Junior knocking at the door leading both six laps and two laps respectively. Wolfe managed to lead 3 laps at the beginning of the stage to give him a bonus point but fell back to 9th before the stage end.

The final stage proved to be the most challenging one for our drivers as most thought that they had the fuel to make it to the end while others tried to put a gap on those trying to save just a little bit of fuel. This strategy put our front runners in a position where a last minute green flag pitstop was needed. Eric Wolfe, leading the pack of cars who were saving fuel towards the middle of Stage 3 got lucky on a late race caution when Patrick Ganczewski hit the wall and was unable to get his car back to pit lane. In being forced to tow the car back to the pits, the caution came out catching the drivers on the front half of the green flag pit cycles a lap down.

Coming back to the line for a natural green/white/checkered, Wolfe lined up next to Joe Tardiff of Previte Racing. Once the trucks hit the restart zone, Wolfe took off and couldn’t be caught. Wolfe went on to win his first race in the Jumpboost Racing League and the second race for i90 Racing this season.
