The Jumpboost Racing League went to Madison, Illinois this week for a race at World Wide Technology Raceway. The i90 Racing team showed up and qualified on the front row this week. Domenic Previte captured his first pole of the year with a fast lap of 34.231 seconds barely beating out his teammate Eric Wolfe by just 0.048 seconds.

As the drivers took the green flag, Domenic Previte and Eric Wolfe raced door to door into turn one and then down the backstretch. Previte entered turn 3 high and washed up in the marbles in turn 4 causing him to lose the lead before the end of the first lap. Wolfe was there and continued to lead the next 20 laps until the end of Stage 1.

Stage two started just the same as Stage one with Domenic Previte in first place, he went on to lead the first lap of the stage prior to Garrett Hummel taking over the lead. Hummel would go on to lead the next 5 laps until his truck broke loose leaving turn two, opening the door for Wolfe and the number 2 NAPA Nightvision Toyota to take the lead. Wolfe would go on to lead the remainder of the stage with a Lap 37 Caution coming out when Harley Barletta and Garret Hummel made contact coming to the start finish line, spinning Barletta out.

Coming to the beginning of Stage three, race leader Jay Monnin would jump the start heading to the restart box which resulted in a pass-through penalty for the #67 THDesigns Chevy. The race would continue from that point until a Lap 60 caution where Harley Barletta spun on entry to turn one. This would not be the last caution as 7 laps later, Justin Potts found himself spinning in front of the field on the exit of turn two. This one car incident put the field back under caution and lined up the cars single file once more.

On the Lap 72 restart, Joshua Thornton found himself the next unlucky driver in the restart zone as he also jumped a restart ahead of the lead car. This would result in a pass-through penalty for the number 29 Chevy who had found himself up front for most of the third stage to this point. The lap did not finish without some more drama unfolding in turn three as the number 67 of Jay Monnin drove deep into the corner and directly into the rear bumper of Domenic Previte. This sent Previte spinning out in between turns three and four bringing out a caution. Previte was not happy after this incident, feeling as he had “been driven through”. This incident would not go on to harm Previte’s race as he would finish third.

On Lap 77, the number 38 Chevy driven by Justin Potts found himself spinning out of turn two again, this time towards the outside wall. This would be the final caution of the race leading into our green/white/checkered finish.

Our last lap was an absolutely wild one as Paul Junior, who has had one of the fastest cars on track the last few weeks, found himself running down the leader. Heading into turn one, Junior sent it in a last ditch effort to rattle the cage of the leader and possibly move him up the track for a chance to win off of turn two. Instead, Junior found himself spinning after the contact and the number 35 car spun to the bottom of the track and out of the contention to win.

This spin opened up the door for Wolfe to all but walk into victory lane as he was able to put a 2.840 second gap on second place by the time he reached the finish line.

This win will go on to be Wolfe’s second victory this season and i90 Racing’s third victory in a row.
